CV in a Nutshell

I have more than 25 yrs of experience in monitoring, evaluation & impact assessment in the context of international development, and in supporting organisations to extend their capabilities in MERLA. This includes several years serving as an evaluation advisor in the New Zealand Aid Programme and as the Senior M&E Specialist for the Laos Australia Development Learning Facility. Most recently I served as the MERLA adviser for the Australia Indonesia Health Security Partnership (AIHSP).  I have experience in a diversity of sectors and themes (agriculture, climate change, gender equality, ending violence against women, natural resource management, rural development, livelihoods, health, microfinance, humanitarian action, law and justice) and have worked in Asia, the Pacific, S and C America, N and E Africa and the Caucasus. 

Other relevant experience includes two decades carrying out biological control and integrated pest management research at two CGIAR centres, leading the Participatory Research Methods Program at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture, and working as a facilitator and trainer for the CGIAR Systemwide Program on Participatory Research and Gender Analysis. I've also worked with community research groups in SE Asia and Latin America and with organisations supporting these.

I've completed several courses at the Evaluator's Institute, and actively cultivate deeper levels of attention and awareness. I have a PhD in Ecology from the University of California, fluency in English and Spanish, a working knowledge of Portuguese and basic Bahasa Indonesia. I completed a diploma in Professional Photography in 2019.
